Upscale, well furnished, oasis of cool quiet from Time Square crowds. An oasis of cool quiet from Time Square crowds.
Hotel entrance is understated and easily missed because of the crowds. You have to go up to the 7th floor to check in.
Check in: smooth, helpful, friendly. There was 1 person in queue. An agent being trained, but instructor was right there walking him through the steps. Lively bar area.
Elevator sets: first elevator from street level to check in on 7th. Then two separate elevators going to 8-34th flr and 35-42nd floor. Elevators were fast and quiet.
King corner room with a view of Times Square. Writing desk and leather chaise lounge.
Clean, neutral smell (much appreciated), bed on the softer side.
Wifi: good fast connection
TV: Netflix, prime, YouTube in addition to other TV channels.
Minibar: well stocked with snacks and drinks
Water bottles: complimentary.
No Ice dispenser on this floor as far as I can see.
Food options: in room dining available, but expensive. There are quite a few dining options around.
Uber access easy, street front. Several subway stations 2-3 blocks away.
I’ve stayed at the Marriott Marquis before, and the feeling of being isolated and yet part of the tourist scene has always been a pleasure. Kitschy as it, I still like Times Square, the hot dogs, Broadway shows. YMMV depending on how much you like being in the center of the most touristy place ever.
