In a mere breath, a moment, a blink of time
You reduced grand love, passion and truth
To a shuffling of paper, bricks and mortar,
Sweaty palms, deceptive lies, and moral character.
As though eternity could be chopped up into tiny bits
And measured by a clock, silently tick tock.
Or a tap seek to control the flow of an ocean
Or you try to hold air in clenched fists of anger.
In a moment of time, a breath you lost
What you had once owned thoughtlessly without
Even ever knowing what it meant or its worth
Or ever understanding what it was not.
