I became invisible
The moment you refused to see me.
In the full light of day
When you told me how I should be.
In the space of a few words
My spirit which soared to heavens
Became dirt in your eyes
And lost me forever.

I am stubborn
And refuse to be redefined.
See me as I am
Not as your fears have told your mind.
I am nothing but simple clay and earth
Dressed up with a name at birth.
It is my soul that makes me special
It is what gives me real worth.

I will be immortal
In the words that I write today.
This body, this name will die
This being will fade away.
But my truth will live forever
In simple eternity.
All you have to do
Is open your eyes and see.
